The ‘Tajga’ Gallery in Lubogoszcz

altNot far away from Sława, in a small village called Lubogoszcz where only 576 inhabitants live, there is the ‘Tajga’ Gallery. It is situated in Narcyzowa 10 Street.

An author of all exhibitions is Marek Chojnacki - the inhabitant of Lubogoszcz. The gallery consists of two rooms: the Regional Room and the Siberian Room. In the Regional Room there one can admire paintings from Sława, Wschowa and Gorzów Wielkopolski, graphic art, decorative articles and sculptures. The second room worth visiting is a place adapted to a Siberian style dating back to the turn of the 19th century. In the gallery there you can buy regional souvenirs as well as a lot of different original items created by the artist. Marek Chojnacki has been producing for the time he was 16 years old. However, when he was 18 art became his true passion.

Why are you interested in Siberia? I have been dreaming about travelling there since I was a small boy… I have read a lot of Alfred Szklarski's books. My favourite one is 'Tajemnicza wyprawa Tomka' - 'Tomek’s mysterious expedition'. I enjoyed it very much. The main hero’s adventures took place in the Far East. During reading I experienced an amazing feeling of being in that uncommon and unique place. What is more, I could experience something unforgettable together with the main hero of that book … And I have always wanted to go there…

The first Marek Chojnacki and his wife's expedition to the East was in 2000 and then the couple visited that charming region several times and as the author of the exhibitions says: I will go there one day... I hope! - he adds.

Everybody who wants to visit the gallery can do it from Monday till Saturday, from 12 p.m. till 6 p.m. The admission is free!
